For Bernards Education

My family and I have called Bernards Township home for over 20 years. My wife, Stacey, and I have two children who have attended Oak Street School, William Annin Middle School, and Ridge High School. We’ve been deeply involved in the community throughout our time here.
I’ve dedicated many years to community service—coaching youth sports, volunteering at a local food bank, and actively participating in the Saint James Men of Charity.
Academically, I earned a B.A. in both History and Sociology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern Maine. I also hold an MBA from the University of Scranton, where I was inducted into the Business Honor Society.
Before my professional career, I proudly served in the U.S. Army, where I was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and two Army Achievement Medals in recognition of my service.
Currently, I work as a Market Access Director at a leading pharmaceutical company. My role focuses on helping patients with rare diseases gain access to critical specialty medications.
Collaboration between the elected members of the board and the professionals of the district lead to the best overall results. Student achievement is tied to a practical partnership between parents and the school district. A partnership where all voices are heard and different viewpoints are considered. Critical thinking, not what to think, should be cultivated and different perspectives respected.
Sustaining excellence in our schools depends on the sound management of the public’s money. Financial focus should be on academics, athletics, the arts, our facilities and our staff. Proper personnel management is critical when greater than 70% of the district’s budget is salary and benefits. We have to properly compensate our people while ensuring we are right sized from a staffing perspective. A continued focus on facilities is vital to maintaining an environment supportive of student success and fostering good working conditions for our staff.
The district should be in close partnership with the town and community at large. There should not be a ‘BOE lane” vs a “town governance lane”. We are all on the same road and should endeavor to travel in the same direction. The entire community has a stake in our schools. Be it parents who are responsible for their children’s upbringing, taxpayers who are concerned how their money is spent or all of us who have a vested interest in the education of the next generation of American citizens, the school district concerns us all.
